Twickenham Stadium, Twickenham
TSL undertook the full refurbishment to the North & West Stands at the home of English rugby, via the facility management company responsible for the stadium.
The existing sheets were tired and had surpassed their serviceable life, allowing the RFU to consider an improved UV stable sheet, that carried a superior level of acoustics, which was their focal point for game days.
As you can imagine with a project like this, there’s an even bigger focus on safe methods of works. As such, a number of new checks and procedures were implemented to ensure that each phase of the works was closely monitored and individuals were vigilant and alert.
This was undertaken alongside a number of other contractors working on the roof of the stadium, this meant daily communications and coordination with everyone. This was absolutely key to ensuring a timely and quality delivery was achieved.
We undertook the project with live events throughout the duration, that meant lots of interaction and safeguarding on the days leading up to events as well as decamping and mobilisations.
Feedback from the RFU has been overwhelming, as all stakeholders are thrilled with the new look and we look forward to hopefully returning post Coronavirus to complete the remaining stands.
